Eclipse Shot
Eclipse Shot Gameplay Demo
My role: Game Designer, Level Designer, QA Tester
Eclipse Shot is a static rhythm shooter Unity VR game where the player must use the same coloured laser to shoot the corresponding robot.

This project was my first proper experience into developing for VR and from this I learnt the differences in developing non-VR and VR games.

The environment design was influenced by VR's unique perspective as other than sculpting out the outer space environment, the actual game space the player spends their time in needed to be adjusted to ensure that they have a better gameplay experience. For example, the player initially started out on the same level as the robots they had to shoot, which caused the player to be overwhelmed easily as they could not see all the robots at once. I moved the player's position up to higher ground for them to get a better view of the level and to allow the player to take better shots at the robots.

QA for VR was also quite difficult for me as I had to ensure that the VR hardware was linked and working correctly during QA testing which I had to slowly learn the different software and internal components that allowed VR to run so I could diagnose the issue when needed.
